After launching their Asus ZenFone 5 lineup, Asus didn’t had any major launches or announcements in India. Now, the company is all set to storm on-budget android line up with affordable price tag, by launching Asus ZenFone Go 5.5.
In terms of built quality, the device offers polycarbonate user replaceable back panel. Though it does not feature all metal unibody, the device still looks good from the design perspective. The device retails at INR 8,499 or $130 which is a sweet spot for the smartphone buyers in developing countries like India. The signature volume rockers are placed at behind the device, showcasing the Asus signature design.
Asus ZenFone Go 5.5 specifications
As per the nomenclature, the device is fitted with 5.5 inch ISP LCD 720p screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Underneath we have old Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (Quad-core) SoC, paired with 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16 GB on-board storage. The Asus ZenFone Go 5.5, also supports external SD card slot up to 128 GB.
Moving on, the device drives with 13 MP rear facing camera with 1080p video recording capability, and a 5 MP selfie camera with 720p video recording capability, to make the smartphone photography more interesting, the device also includes dual tone LED flash.
In terms of battery, the device includes 3000 mAh (non user replaceable) Li-Ion battery. However, the device does not support fast charging due to chipset incapability. Even the old school micro USB is not replaced with USB type C; however, the device does support USB OTG.
Once again, due to chipset incapabilities, the device offers Android marshmallow topped off with the custom Zen Ui. The Asus ZenFone Go 5.5 will be available in either Charcoal Black and Sheer Gold color options. As of now the device is made exclusive to Amazon, however, we have no time frame about the availability of the same.
